As many of you know, I love to wear a chic gowns with a pair of sneakers. A statement mini-dress with a custom-made crisp white pair is definitely a combination I don’t mind either. Of course I do love high heels, too, but I rather wear those with a pair of jeans and a statement top than with a dress. Why? Simply because I love to mix things up. It might not be for everyone, but that’s OK. I’m not here to tell you how to dress like me, I’m here to inspire you and give you some ideas on how to dress in another way than you thought you wanted to dress. I’m here to make you want to do it differently, maybe, even if it’s for one time only…
Well if you ask me, there’s nothing better – besides the smell of a new born, the first coffee of the day, and the feel of freshly made bed – than a Valentino gown worn with a pair of sneakers. I know, I know, this is controversial – to some at least – but to me it’s THE ULTIMATE statement.
The concept is obviously not restricted to or limited by only Valentino – see this Giambattista gown for example – or just gowns in general; it all comes down to that one simple “excitement” factor that a look NEEDS to have. So either it’s a freaking extravagant pair of sneakers, but with the simplest of the simplest white summer dress, OR that gorgeous gown you haven’t worn after you wore it to your best friends’ wedding – but daresay you wish you could… with a simple pair of white kicks. And then we change “wish I could” into I CAN… Even if it’s with a pair of Converse, you are able to rock this look too!
In this photo I’m wearing a Valentino dress, a pair of custom-made exclusive to Mytheresa Valentino sneakers, my favorite Kayu straw bag – get similar one here – and a pair of Celine sunglasses – get similar option here!
